🚀 Getting Started
Tap the + button
On the Home screen, tap the green "+" button in the bottom-right corner to start a new propagation entry.
Enter plant details
Give your propagation a name (e.g., "Kitchen Pothos"), select the plant species, and choose the propagation method (water, soil, moss, etc.).
Add a photo
Take a photo of your fresh cutting or choose one from your library. This will be your "Day 1" reference photo.
Set a reminder (optional)
Enable reminders to get notified when it's time to check on your cutting, change water, or take a progress photo.
Save & track
Hit "Save" and your propagation will appear on the Home screen. Come back any time to add updates!
Active propagations
Your Home screen shows all active propagation projects as cards. Each card displays the plant name, days since start, current status, and the most recent photo.
Status indicators
Cards are color-coded: green for healthy, yellow for needs attention, and a checkmark for successfully rooted propagations.
Quick actions
Swipe on a card to access quick actions: add a photo, log a measurement, or mark as complete.
📸 Photo Journal
Open a propagation
Tap on any propagation card from the Home screen to open its detail view.
Tap "Add Entry"
Use the "Add Entry" button to create a new journal entry. You can take a photo directly or choose from your library.
Add notes
Write observations like "first roots visible" or "new leaf unfurling." These notes make your timeline more informative.
Collect enough photos
For a good time-lapse, aim for at least 5–10 photos taken over several days or weeks.
Open the propagation detail
Navigate to the propagation you want to create a time-lapse for.
Tap the time-lapse icon
Look for the video/time-lapse icon in the toolbar. Rootling will compile your photos into a smooth video you can save or share.
📊 Growth Tracking
Open the Growth Tracker
Inside any propagation detail view, switch to the "Growth" tab to see the measurement tracker.
Log measurements
Add journal entries with notes and photos. Each entry is automatically date-stamped and contributes to your growth activity chart.
View charts
Watch your growth charts come to life as you add more data points. See trends, compare progress, and identify what conditions work best.
🔔 Reminders & Notifications
Enable notifications
When prompted, allow Rootling to send notifications. You can also enable this in iOS Settings → Rootling → Notifications.
Set per-propagation reminders
Open any propagation and tap the bell icon. Choose from preset schedules (daily, every 3 days, weekly) or set a custom interval.
Choose reminder types
Get reminded to take photos, change water, check for roots, or mist your cuttings. Customize what each notification says.
