1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using AppSweep ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use the App.

2. Description of Service

AppSweep is a macOS application that:

  • Scans your Applications folder to identify installed apps
  • Checks multiple sources for available software updates
  • Facilitates downloading updates from official sources
  • Provides information about app versions and security status

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Download and install the App on devices that you own or control
  • Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes

License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the App

4. Purchases and Payments

One-Time Purchase

AppSweep is available as a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. The purchase includes:

  • Full access to all premium features
  • Free updates for the lifetime of the product
  • No recurring subscription fees

Pricing

Prices are set in various currencies and may vary by region. All purchases are final and processed through Apple's App Store.

Refunds

Refund requests must be made through Apple's App Store refund process. We do not directly process refunds.

5. User Responsibilities

When using AppSweep, you are responsible for:

  • Granting Permissions: Providing necessary folder access for the App to function
  • Backup: Maintaining backups of your data before updating apps
  • Verification: Reviewing update information before installing
  • Compliance: Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws

6. Third-Party Content

AppSweep facilitates downloads from third-party sources including:

  • App developers' websites and servers
  • GitHub release pages
  • Mac App Store
  • Other official distribution channels

We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, downloads, or services. Use of third-party content is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by AppSweep and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

App icons, names, and trademarks of third-party applications belong to their respective owners.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF UPDATE INFORMATION

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will function uninterrupted or error-free
  • All updates will be detected or compatible with your system
  • Downloaded updates will be free from defects or security issues

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL APPSWEEP BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from third-party software updates
  • System incompatibilities or conflicts

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AppSweep and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Updates to the App

We may release updates to the App that may include:

  • Bug fixes and security patches
  • New features and improvements
  • Changes to functionality

Updates are provided free of charge for one-time purchase customers. We recommend keeping the App updated for the best experience.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the App ends
  • You must delete all copies of the App
  • Locally stored data may be removed

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the App shall be resolved through:

  1. Informal Resolution: Contact us first to attempt to resolve the issue
  2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, parties may agree to mediation
  3. Legal Action: As a last resort, disputes may be resolved in court

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

We will notify users of significant changes through:

  • Updates to this page
  • In-app notifications for major changes

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AppSweep regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements.
