π§ Common Issues
AppSweep can't find my apps
Make sure you've granted AppSweep access to your Applications folder:
- Open AppSweep
- Click "Grant Access" or go to Settings β Folder Access
- Select your /Applications folder when prompted
- Click "Select" to confirm
Updates aren't being detected
Some apps may not be detected for various reasons:
- The app doesn't use a supported update mechanism
- The app's update feed is temporarily unavailable
- You're already on the latest version
Try clicking "Refresh" to force a new scan, or report the missing app to us.
Update link wonβt open or download failed
If an update link wonβt open or a download fails:
- Open the update link again from AppSweep
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure you have enough disk space
- Try downloading again later (the server might be busy)
- Check if the app's website is accessible

- macOS Version: macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
- Processor: Apple Silicon or Intel (Universal Binary)
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum
- Storage: 50 MB for the app (plus space for downloaded installers)
- Internet: Required for update checking

If AppSweep isn't detecting updates for an app you use, let us know! We're constantly expanding our crowdsourced database to cover more apps. Send us an email with:
- The app name and developer
- Where you downloaded it from
- The app's website (if known)
