Controller responsible for the Ringjahr app under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Save data: local to your device only

Ringjahr stores your save data exclusively on your device, as a JSON file in the app's application support directory. There is no server operated by the provider that save data is sent to, no accounts, and no sync through any service of ours. The provider has no access to this data.

No sign-in, no account

Ringjahr does not require registration. No account or profile data is collected.

Purchases

Any purchases within the app are processed exclusively through Apple's in-app purchase system. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple; the provider of Ringjahr never receives payment data. Apple's own privacy terms apply to that processing.

Advertising

Ringjahr shows advertising through Google AdMob. There are two kinds: optional rewarded videos that you start yourself to receive a hint or double coins, and full-screen ads between levels. Buying the “Remove Ads” in-app purchase stops the full-screen ads. Rewarded videos are unaffected: they stay available if you want them, and are never shown on their own.

The app asks for your consent before the first ad. In the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom this happens through Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform), where you can accept or decline processing for advertising purposes. In addition, the app uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to ask for permission to identify the device across apps for advertising purposes. Without consent, only non-personalized advertising is served.

You can change your decision at any time: the app's settings contain a “Change ad preferences” entry under “Privacy” that reopens the consent form. ATT permission can be withdrawn in the iOS system settings under “Privacy & Security” → “Tracking”.

As part of serving ads, AdMob processes the following data:

  • the device's advertising identifier (IDFA), if consent was given via ATT and the consent form
  • device information (e.g. device type, operating system version)
  • approximate location information derived from the IP address

Google acts as an independent controller for this advertising data. Details are available in Google's privacy policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights including access to data held about you, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data, and objection to certain processing. Since Ringjahr does not use accounts and stores save data only locally, these rights mainly become relevant for the advertising data processed by AdMob.

Deleting your local save data

You can delete your local save data yourself at any time:

  • in the app, under Settings → Delete Progress, or
  • by uninstalling the app.
