Focusledger ("we," "our," or "the app") is a productivity tracking application for macOS that helps you understand how you spend your time and improve your work habits. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
This Privacy Policy explains what data Focusledger collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding your personal information.
Data Collection & Storage
Focusledger collects and stores the following data locally on your Mac:

Permissions & Optional Data
- Accessibility (Required): Detects the active app for time tracking.
- Screen Recording (Optional): Enables window titles across apps and optional screenshots.
- Input Monitoring (Optional): Measures keyboard/mouse activity levels. No typed content is captured.
- Notifications (Optional): Focus reminders and summaries.
Data We Do NOT Collect

- ❌ File contents (only names from window titles)

Third-Party Services
Apple Intelligence
Our AI features use Apple Intelligence, which processes all data entirely on your device. Apple does not receive your productivity data through this feature.
Apple StoreKit
For App Store purchases, Apple processes transactions according to their privacy policy. We do not receive payment details or Apple ID information.
No Analytics Services
We do NOT use Google Analytics, Firebase, or any similar third-party analytics services. We do not track your app usage for marketing purposes.
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- macOS App Sandbox: Focusledger runs in a sandboxed environment with limited system access
- Local Storage Only: Data never leaves your device over the network
- System Keychain: Sensitive preferences use the macOS Keychain
- FileVault Encryption: All stored data benefits from macOS disk encryption
Your Rights & Controls
- Access: View all tracked data in the Timeline and Insights views
- Export: Export your complete data history in JSON, PDF, HTML, or CSV formats
- Delete: Delete individual sessions, date ranges, or all data with one click
- Control: Enable/disable tracking, exclude specific apps, use privacy mode
- Retention: Configure automatic deletion after 30, 90, 180 days, or 1 year
Children's Privacy
Focusledger is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
