abstract
Develops a quantum walk-inspired heuristic for dynamic resource allocation in cloud computing. The spreading behavior of quantum walks is used as a template for how allocation decisions explore the space of placements, aiming at allocations that adapt to shifting load while keeping utilization — and with it the energy footprint of over-provisioning — in check, which connects the algorithmic idea to sustainable operating practice.
