Lancet & Linen / Lanzett & Leinen

A working life in 1382.

A bilingual medieval life and business simulation about a German Bader—a barber-surgeon—building a practice, a household, and a place in the towns of Franconia.

Care & consequence

Read period-framed signs, choose bounded game responses, and carry the outcome into your journal and future choices.

Household & trade

Run a stall or bathhouse, manage supplies and staff, acquire property, and balance everyday costs against larger ambitions.

Town & road

Travel between Franconian towns, meet mentors, face market and road events, and earn civic standing over a multi-act campaign.

Made as a game, not a lesson

Lancet & Linen treats historical material as a setting for player decisions. Medical procedures are period motifs rather than advice or claims of effectiveness. Its in-game lexicon distinguishes attested sources, regional framing, and deliberate game simplifications.

The goal is a legible working life: patients, craft, money, relationships, civic obligations, and the pressure of time all pull on the same day.
